Yeti Move

Yeti Move provides a service that enables airport operators to digitally plan a snow removal operation, allocate the plan to a group of autonomous (self-driving) snow removal vehicles that will drive the planned route and control the snow removal equipment along the route.

There are many end user interfaces in the Yeti User experience. We seek to gather data that will support us in further development of the user experience.

The research on the Yeti cases was made in cooperation with several master students and two PhD students. Some of them where part time stationed at Yetis premises.

Working groups with end user from customer organizations:

  • Prototypes of new functionality is demonstrated to customers for discussion prior to doing implementation when feasible.
  • User feedback forums
  • Yeti Move is working to structure customer feedback to make statistics of most frequent faults and issues. The goal is to use customer experiences with our system to prioritize future development.
  • Logging of manual and automated operations
  • Driving path and equipment commands are logged continuously during manual and automated operations.
  • Analysing this data enables us to understand how our system is used and prioritize functionality that provides value to the airport customers.

Yeti has for the duration of HSEIF focused mainly on delivering autonomous snow removal contracts for Swedavia and Avinor. HSEIF contribution has been within collection on data from the systems in the piloting operations and through interactions with customers and users. Yeti has used conceptual models to facilitate discussions and gain understanding of requirements from customers and how to realize them. We have not used a framework to select models, but rather relied on the experience of the model author.

Yeti gained valuable feedback from external partners when interacting with them using simple informal models to facilitate discussions and document the discussion results,

These (H-SEIF) results support Yeti Move to look holistically at the whole project and its problems and challenges without losing itself in sub technical details. Such results support Yeti Move in advancing the competitiveness of their autonomous product
