Key Findings:

  1. Conceptual Modeling: This approach helped us establish a shared understanding among various stakeholders of the primary need—enhancing APS reliability.
  2. Data Collection: We analyzed six years of internal failure data and external weather conditions to identify trends and correlations.
  3. Data Analysis: Internal data highlighted reliability patterns, while weather data showed environmental impacts on failures.
  4. Integration of Methods: Conceptual modeling improved communication and shared understanding, transforming information into knowledge and wisdom. Data analysis provides information that may also become knowledge. Combining conceptual modeling and data analysis facilitated actionable knowledge. These actions require wisdom.

Implementing a combination of data analysis and conceptual modeling is recommended as a short-term strategy to enhance APS reliability. This approach also supports the long-term vision of successful CBM implementation.
